We welcome Pascal Domann, a new MONTIS volunteer who will be helping us with our nature conservation activities until mid-June. He comes from Germany through our partner organization, NaturKultur. Get to know him better below!
Olá! Chamo-me Pascal e sou um novo voluntário na MONTIS. Tenho 20 anos e acabei de terminar o ensino secundário na minha cidade natal, Frankfurt, na Alemanha. Agora, decidi tirar um ano sabático para explorar o mundo e os meus interesses, e estou ansioso por contribuir para os projetos de proteção da natureza da MONTIS nas próximas seis semanas.
Desde a minha infância que sempre tive um interesse especial pela natureza e pela proteção do clima, razão pela qual frequentei um curso com ênfase nas ciências naturais, o que também despertou o meu interesse pelos projetos de voluntariado da MONTIS. Especialmente nas florestas de Portugal, que enfrentam vários incêndios florestais, toda a ajuda é necessária para restaurar e proteger a nossa natureza. Durante o meu tempo aqui na MONTIS, quero contribuir para isso tanto quanto possível, ao mesmo tempo que conheço muitas pessoas novas e a cultura de Portugal.
Quero agradecer à MONTIS por esta oportunidade de não só contribuir para a sociedade, mas também de explorar o mundo e aprender mais sobre mim mesmo!
Hello!
My name is Pascal and I‘m a new volunteer at MONTIS. I‘m 20 years old and I just finished Gymnasium in my hometown of Frankfurt in Germany. Now, I have decided to take a gap year to both explore the world and my interests and I‘m happily looking forward to contribute to the natural protection projects by MONTIS in the following six weeks.
Since my childhood, I have always had a special interest for nature and climate protection, which is why I used to visit a Gymnasium with a focus on natural sciences and it also sparked my interest for the volunteering projects of MONTIS. Especially in the forests of Portugal, which are facing an ever growing of wildfires, every help is needed to restore and protect our nature. In my time here at MONTIS, I want to contribute to this as much as possible, while also meeting many new people and getting to know the culture of Portugal.
I want to thank MONTIS for this opportunity to not only contribute to society, but also explore the world and learn more about myself!
