GHB: o trabalho na Cerdeirinha

Vista da nossa nova propriedade a trabalhar: Cerdeirinha! / View from our new working property: Cerdeirinha!

O voluntários GiestaHappyBees estiveram a trabalhar na propriedade da Cerdeirinha (Valadares, São Pedro do Sul) de 29 de abril a 8 de maio. O relatório elaborado por eles permite dar a conhecer a todos o trabalho que a MONTIS desenvolveu nesta propriedade durante este período. Como já é hábito, também fizeram a tradução para português dos seus textos.

Volunteers GiestaHappybees were working at the Cerdeirinha property (Valadares, São Pedro do Sul) from April 29th to May 8th. The report prepared by them make it possible to show everyone the work done by MONTIS in this property. As usual, they also translated their texts into Portuguese.

Primeira semana – 29 de abril a 2 de maio/ First week – April 29th to May 2th

Dia 29 de abril fomos à Cerdeirinha. O Gabriel e o Hugo já tinham ido uma vez com o Henrique e o Cedric em fevereiro e para o Baptiste e o Hugo foi a primeira vez que viram a propriedade. O Guilherme explicou-nos qual era o objetivo, quais as árvores que deveríamos podar e contou-nos um pouco sobre a história da propriedade. Assim podíamos começar a trabalhar! Todos nós estávamos a trabalhar na poda da parte superior da propriedade (Cerdeirinha de Cima), exceto o Baptiste e o Hoël que estavam a fazer os acessos na parte inferior (Cerdeirinha de Baixo), que é muito íngreme e mais difícil de penetrar.

On the 29th April we went in Cerdeirinha. Gabriel and Hugo already went once with Henrique and Cedric in February, and for Baptiste and Hugo it was their first time seeing the property. Guilherme explained to us what the goal was, which trees we have to prune, and told us a bit about the history of the property. Then we could get to work! All of us were working on the pruning of the top of the property, except for Baptiste and Hoël who were making accesses on the bottom side, which is very steep and harder to navigate in.

No dia 2 de maio, o Gabriel estava de férias, por isso éramos apenas os Hugos e o Baptiste, e encontrámos também a Lara, o Yohann, o Florent e a Laurine da PLM GO. Continuámos a podar na Cerdeirinha. Nesta primeira semana de trabalho, concentrámo-nos na parte superior. É mais plana, por isso foi mais fácil e rápida de podar. Quando a maior área desta parte plana superior estiver feita ser-nos-á mais fácil de aceder a qualquer ponto da parte mais íngreme inferior.

On the 2nd May, Gabriel was on holiday, so we were only Hugos and Baptiste, and we met Lara, Yohann, Florent and Laurine from PLM GO. We kept on pruning in Cerdeirinha. For this first week of work in Cerdeirinha, we focused on the upper part. It is more flat so it was easier and faster to prune, and since most of the flat upper part is made, it will allow us to access to any point in the steepest part more easily.

Segunda semana – 5 a 8 de maio / Second week May 5-8th

De 5 a 8 de maio, continuámos a podar carvalhos. Na segunda-feira, trabalhámos na parte superior da propriedade (parte sudeste a azul), onde já tínhamos começado a trabalhar na semana passada, e conseguimos podar 140 carvalhos, seguindo o limite sul da propriedade. Na terça, quarta e quinta-feira, trabalhámos na parte inferior da propriedade, abaixo da estrada (parte sudoeste a azul). A floresta era muito densa (muito mais do que acima da estrada) e o terreno muito íngreme, escorregadio e cheio de silvas, pelo que a poda foi mais lenta, mas mesmo assim conseguimos fazer uma parte muito boa! Na terça, quarta e quinta-feira, conseguimos podar 60, 70 e 50 carvalhos, respetivamente.

From the 5th to the 8th May, we continued to work in Cerdeirinha on pruning oaks. On Monday, we worked on the top part of the property (south-east blue part), where we already started working last week, and managed to prune 140 oaks, while following the south border of the property. From Tuesday to Thursday we worked on the bottom part of the property, beneath the path (south-west part blue part). The forest was very dense (way more than above the road) and the terrain very steep, slippery, and full of brambles, so it was slower to prune but we still managed to make a very good part ! On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we managed to prune 60, 70 and 50 oaks respectively.

Observações / Remarks :

Sobre o nosso trabalho na Cerdeirinha nesta segunda semana não há muito mais a dizer, exceto o facto de que a parte da propriedade que fica abaixo da estrada era muito densa e que a poda foi mais lenta. Os carvalhos e os pinheiros eram muito altos e grandes e isso era muito fixe de se ver!

On our work on Cerdeirinha this second week, there is not much to say except from the fact that the part of the property that is below the road was very dense and that the pruning there was slower. The oaks and pines were very tall and big there, very often at the top of the canopee, and that was very cool to see!
