A Léa Ripoche, voluntária do projeto ENVIE, do parceiro Parcours le Monde, conta-nos o que fez na primeira semana de dezembro, após a partida dos outros três voluntários.
Léa Ripoche, volunteer of ENVIE project, from the partner Parcours le Monde, tells us what she did on the first week of December, after the departure of the other three volunteers.
A semana toda foi sobre bolotas. Na segunda-feira, comecei a pôr as bolotas no tabuleiro para gaios na Quinta das Lamas. Estas bolotas foram as que apanhámos com a escola a meio de novembro, e começaram a germinar (algumas, sem se estar a contar, por estarem em condições propicias a tal).
“All this week was about the acorns, on Monday, I began to put the acorns on the jay table in Quinta das lamas. These acorns where the ones we picked with the school in half of November, and finally they began to germinate.” (Without planning because they were in the conditions of humidity and light favourable to germinate.)
Na terça-feira, separei todas as bolotas em três categorias: 1 - germinadas com raízes grandes, 2 - germinadas, mas ainda com raízes pequenas, 3 - não germinadas, mas ainda ótimas. Durante a triagem, encontrei muitos insetos, mas o que me surpreendeu foi um "Lithobius forficatus" (uma centopeia). Passei a maior parte do dia a selecionar e depois comecei a plantar bolotas com raízes grandes nas zonas de bordadura dos trilhos.
“On Tuesday, I sorted all the acorns in three categories, 1-sprouted with bigs roots, 2- sprouted but still small roots, 3- Not sprouted but still great. During sorting, I found lot of bugs but the one which surprised me was a “Lithobius forficatus”. I spent most of the day to sorting and after, I began to plant acorns with big roots on trails
Na quarta-feira, fomos ao Baldio de Carvalhais com outros voluntários (da Plantar uma Árvore). Enquanto eles estavam a plantar árvores, eu plantei as bolotas com raízes pequenas à volta das últimas plantações. Durante a manhã, plantei 80 bolotas. À tarde, comecei a plantar bolotas com raízes grandes na Quinta das Lamas, tive de escolher uma zona onde não há carvalhos, por isso plantei 35 bolotas e vou ter de plantar o mesmo número que no Baldio para ver a diferença (em termos de sucesso da instalação).
“On Wednesday, we went in Baldio de Carvalhais with other volunteers, and while they were planting trees, I planted the acorns with small roots around their last plantations. During this morning, I planted 80 acorns. On the afternoon, I began to plant acorns with big roots in Quinta das lamas, I had to choose an area where there is no oak so I planted 35 acorns and I will have to plant the same number as in Baldio to see the difference.”
E na quinta-feira, continuei a plantar as bolotas com raízes grandes nos trilhos. Num dia, plantei 168 bolotas. Terminei a semana com os preparativos de ferramentas e plantas e a atividade da próxima segunda-feira.
“And on Thursday, I continued to plant the acorns with big roots on the trails and in one day, I planted 168 acorns. I finished the week with the preparations of tools and plants and the activity of the next Monday.”
