Voluntários: semana de 23 a 27 de fevereiro

Os voluntários da MONTIS contam-nos como foi a sua semana de voluntariado, de 23 a 27 de fevereiro. Leiam abaixo o seu testemunho!

The MONTIS volunteers tell us how their volunteering week, from the 23rd to the 27th of February, went. Read their testimony below!

Terça-feira / Tuesday 

A terça-feira começou com um tempo extraordinariamente bonito, perfeito para uma caminhada extraordinária. No sábado desta semana, a MONTIS tinha planeado organizar uma atividade de caminhada para as pessoas interessadas. O nosso objetivo foi testar a viabilidade do caminho com antecedência (pontes, por exemplo).

Fizemos a nossa pausa de almoço com a mais bela paisagem, com uma cascata. Durante o percurso, tínhamos outro objetivo: capturar imagens da biodiversidade nativa naquela área. Por exemplo, líquenes. Enquanto caminhávamos, conseguimos reconhecer muitas espécies diferentes de árvores e arbustos que estamos a plantar com as nossas próprias mãos.

Today started with extraordinarily beautiful weather, which was perfect for an extraordinary walk on a hiking trail. This Saturday MONTIS is going to organise a walking activity for people interested. Our purpose was to test the viability of the path beforehand (briges for example)

We had our lunch break with the most beautiful scenery with a waterfall. On the trail we had another goal - to capture pictures of native biodiversity in that area. For example lichen. While walking on the path we managed to recognise a lot of different tree and bush species which we get to plant with our own hands. 

Quarta-feira / Wednesday 

Neste dia, recebemos a Caudalie, uma empresa parceira da MONTIS. Organizámos uma atividade de plantação de árvores com a equipa deles. O ambiente foi muito positivo: eles estavam muito entusiasmados e envolvidos na atividade. Foi motivador ver o interesse deles pelo projeto e o compromisso com o ambiente.

Por volta das 13h, fomos ao Bioparque para partilhar uma refeição juntos, o que nos permitiu conversar e conviver num ambiente mais informal.

À tarde, nós os voluntários continuámos no terreno. Aproveitámos também para relaxar e conversar, o que também ajudou a fortalecer a coesão do grupo.

This week, we welcomed Caudalie, a partner company of MONTIS. We organised a tree planting activity with their team. The atmosphere was very positive: they were very enthusiastic and involved in the activity. It was motivating to see their interest in the project and their commitment to the environment.

At around 1 p.m., we went to the Bioparque to share a meal together, which allowed us to chat and hangout in a informal way. In the afternoon, us volunteers continued in the field. We took advantage also to relax and talk, which also helped to strengthen the group's cohesion.

Quinta-feira / Thursday

Na quinta-feira, trabalhámos de forma independente pela primeira vez. De manhã, plantámos como de costume com o Afonso e, à tarde, ficámos sozinhos no campo. Foi uma boa experiência, que nos permitiu assumir mais responsabilidades e organizar-nos.

Today, we worked independently for the first time. In the morning, we planted as usual with Afonso, then in the afternoon we stayed on the field by ourselves. It was a good experience, it allowed us to take on more responsibility and organise ourselves.

Sexta-feira / Friday

Na sexta-feira, estávamos completamente independentes. Saímos para o campo sozinhos enquanto Lysett fazia as compras. Achamos que estamos a começar a sentir-nos mais confortáveis e confiantes nas nossas tarefas.

On Friday, we were completely independent. We went out into the field on our own while Lysett did the grocery. We think we are starting to feel more comfortable and confident in our tasks.
