Os voluntários do projeto ENVIE, do parceiro Parcours le Monde, continuam a apoiar a MONTIS. Eles deixam aqui o seu testemunho sobre o trabalho desenvolvido durante a terceira semana de março.
The volunteers from the project ENVIE, from partner Parcours le Monde, continue to support MONTIS. Here they give their testimony about the work carried out during the third week of March.
"Na segunda-feira, 18 de março, passámos a manhã a preparar as ferramentas necessárias para os dois dias seguintes. Depois de selecionarmos tudo, colocámo-las num canto para as encontrarmos rapidamente, depois dirigimo-nos ao viveiro para preparar as plantas de que também precisaríamos para os próximos dias. Depois de as levarmos para o escritório da MONTIS, fizemos a nossa pausa para almoço e à tarde fomos para Vermilhas para terminar a abertura do caminho que não conseguimos terminar na semana passada."
“On Monday, March 18th, we spent the morning preparing the tools we would need for the next 2 days. After selecting everything, we put them in a corner to find them quickly, then we headed to the nursery to prepare the plants we also required for the next few days. After taking them to the MONTIS office, we took our lunch break and in the afternoon we went to Vermilhas to finish opening the path that we could not finish last week.”
"Na terça-feira, dia 19, acompanhámos o João e a Lúcia à propriedade da Pampilhosa da Serra, a duas horas de distância, para construir barreiras para reter o solo e plantar plantas com outros voluntários. O nosso papel era guiá-los, ajudá-los e também preparar um almoço, que partilhámos com todos. Quando os outros voluntários partiram, terminámos o trabalho, plantando as últimas plantas que faltavam antes de regressar a casa.
“On Tuesday 19th, we accompanied João and Lúcia to Pampilhosa da Serra property, two hours away, to build barriers to retain soil and plant plants with other volunteers. Our role was to guide and help them, we also planned a lunch, which we shared with everyone. Once the other volunteers left, we completed the work by planting the last remaining plants before returning home."

"Quarta-feira, dia 20, o Valentin acompanhou o João à Pampilhosa da Serra e, tal como no dia anterior, encontraram-se com outros voluntários, desta vez mais numerosos, para plantar plantas e cuidar da refeição. À tarde, juntaram-se a eles pessoas importantes, e as entrevistas decorreram num ambiente maravilhoso. Foi um dia muito bonito.”
“Wednesday, 20th, Valentin accompanied João to Pampilhosa da Serra and as the day before they met other volunteers, more numerous this time, to plant plants and take care of the meal. In the afternoon, important people joined them, and interviews took place in a wonderful atmosphere. It was a very beautiful day.”
"O Leo e o Antoine começaram por descascar as acácias nas Quintas das Lamas, depois, à tarde, foram para a frente da Câmara Municipal cortar ramos para fazer estacas.
Por seu lado, Lomane continuou a criação do guia em inglês para os futuros voluntários. E à tarde acompanhou a Inês numa visita de estudo com uma turma do 5º e 6º ano e os seus professores. A atividade foi um passeio educativo, tentámos observar as aves com as crianças e mostrar-lhes as caixas-ninho que estão colocadas na propriedade de Vermilhas. Tínhamos distribuído binóculos às crianças, e o desafio era recuperá-los intactos e inteiros."
"Leo and Antoine first peeled the acacias in Quintas das Lamas, then in the afternoon they went in front of the town hall to cut branches to make stakes.
For her part, Lomane continued the creation of the guide in English for future volunteers. And the afternoon accompanied Inês on a field trip with a 5th and 6th grade class and their teachers. The activity was an educational outing, we tried to observe the birds with the children and show them the nest boxes that are placed on Vermilhas property. We had distributed binoculars to the children, and the challenge was to recover them intact and whole.”
"Quinta-feira, dia 21, foi um dia calmo, primeiro fizemos a recapitulação da semana anterior, e depois tivemos de cortar estacas em frente à Câmara Municipal, o objetivo era fazer pelo menos 200, e chegámos às 250! À tarde, tivemos de nos gravar falando português para um vídeo explicativo, tarefa não necessariamente fácil quando não se sabe falar esta língua. O fim do dia terminou na Quinta das Lamas, onde voltámos a descascar acácias."
“Thursday, 21st, was a quiet day, we first did the recap of the previous week, and after we had to cut stakes in front of the town hall, the goal was to make at least 200, and we reached 250 ! In the afternoon we had to register while speaking Portuguese for an explanatory video, task not necessarily easy when you do not know how to speak this language. The end of the day ended at Quinta das Lamas where we debarked acacias again.”
"Sexta-feira, dia 22, depois de várias peripécias com o carro, os rapazes e a Inês puderam finalmente regressar à propriedade de Vermilhas para fazer os preparativos para o evento do dia seguinte. Assim, depois de encontrarem um local sem rocha, cavaram um buraco suficientemente fundo para se poder instalar lá uma placa (sem a armar), e à tarde abriram um local perto de um rio para terem espaço suficiente para poderem plantar 10 plantas (ainda sem plantar nenhuma)."
“Friday, 22nd, after several adventures with the car, the boys and Inês finally could return to the property of Vermilhas to prepare for the next day's event. So, after finding a place without rock, they dug a hole deep enough to be able to instal a sign there (without installing it), and in the afternoon they opened a place near a river so as to have enough space to be able to plant 10 plants (still without planting any).”
"Lomane continuou o guia e começou a recapitulação da semana para se adiantar. E à tarde foi pintar as estacas que tinham sido feitas no dia anterior com um spray de tinta. Desta forma, as plantas podem ser sinalizadas quando forem plantadas nas propriedades."
“Lomane continued the guide and started the recap of the week to get ahead. And in the afternoon, she went to paint the stakes that had been made the day before with a spray of paint. This way, they can be spotted when they are planted on the properties.”
"No sábado, dia 23 de março, a Inês, o Antoine e o Valentin voltaram à propriedade de Vermilhas para comemorar os 10 anos da MONTIS, na companhia de várias pessoas importantes, como a presidente da MONTIS e o presidente da Câmara de Vouzela! Para começar, percorreram o caminho que tínhamos aberto há alguns dias, depois colocaram a placa no buraco que tínhamos criado no dia anterior. De seguida, fomos para a zona junto ao rio onde todos plantaram uma planta, num total de 10, como símbolo dos 10 anos da MONTIS. Houve muita conversa em português, que não percebemos muito bem, mas falavam dos seus projetos e do que já lá tinham feito. Muitas memórias e ambições vieram juntar-se a nós, foi um evento muito bonito. Depois de comermos um pouco juntos, regressámos ao parque de estacionamento e seguimos caminhos diferentes para terminar a semana."
“On Saturday, March 23rd, Inês, Antoine and Valentin returned to the property of Vermilhas to celebrate 10 years of MONTIS, in the company of several important people such as the president of MONTIS and the mayor of Vouzela! To start, they crossed the path we had opened a few days ago, then they stuck the sign in the hole we had created the day before. Following this, we went to the area near the river where everyone planted a plant, for a total of 10, as a symbol for the 10 years of MONTIS. There was a lot of discussion in Portuguese, which we didn't really understand, but they were talking about their projects there and what they had already accomplished there. Many memories and ambitions came to join us, it was a very beautiful event. After having a small bite to eat together, we returned to the parking lot and went our separate ways to end the week.”
