Testemunho dos voluntários Parcours le Monde

Os voluntários do projeto ENVIE (Parcours le Monde), Antoine, Lèo, Lomane e Valentin terminaram no dia 15 de abril o seu período de voluntariado com a MONTIS. Depois de três meses, a apoiar a MONTIS na gestão dos terrenos e organização de atividades, deixam aqui o testemunho da sua experiência.

The volunteers from the ENVIE project (Parcours le Monde), Antoine, Lèo, Lomane and Valentin, ended their volunteering period with MONTIS on 15 April. After three months supporting MONTIS in managing the proprieties and organising activities, they leave their experience here.

"Antes de mais, gostaria de vos agradecer a oportunidade de fazer este voluntariado no meio do ambiente, obrigado pela vossa amabilidade, o vosso sorriso, compreensão e bondade!"

"O que eu não gostava era de trabalhar aos sábados quando já trabalhávamos de segunda a sexta... e fazer plantações diurnas à chuva e ao granizo..."

"What I didn’t like was working on Saturdays when we already worked from Monday to Friday… and to make day plantations in the rain and hail..."

"O que gostei: Gostei muito de trabalhar nas acácias porque estávamos na nossa bolha com a música a animar-nos. Gostei muito dos dias de plantação sob o lindo sol português!"

"What I loved: I really enjoyed working on the acacias because were in our bubble with the music to boost us. I really liked the planting days under the beautiful Portuguese sun!"

“Being informed of certain things at the last minute.”

“Waking up early some days to work an hour or two away.”

 Coisas a melhorar

“Não houve muitos aspetos negativos, mas muitos aspetos positivos! Para além do facto de o horário ter sido dado bastante tarde, mas suficientemente tarde para nos organizarmos na véspera.”

“Além disso, penso que o alojamento é bastante caro para o dinheiro que recebemos como voluntários do serviço cívico, apesar de ser bastante confortável.”

Things to improve

“There weren”t many negative aspects, but plenty of positive ones! Apart from the fact that the timetable was given quite late, but late enough for us to get organised the day before.”

“Also, I think the accommodation is quite expensive for the money we receive as civic service volunteers, even though it”s quite comfortable.”

 

Ideias

“Penso que seria interessante fazer um projeto de grupo a longo prazo (vários dias) sobre o tema do ambiente, que poderia ser utilizado por futuros voluntários que o poderiam desenvolver. Não tenho necessariamente exemplos concretos.”

Ideas

“I think it would be interesting to do a long-term group project (several days) on the subject of the environment, which could be used by future volunteers who could develop it. I don”t necessarily have any concrete examples.”

Memórias

“Durante o meu tempo de voluntariado na associação MONTIS, pude descobrir vários aspetos escondidos do ambiente em Portugal e como funcionam as invasões de acácias no país. Também aprendi a combater esta invasão com uma técnica muito especial. Acho que nos divertimos muito com a equipa da MONTIS e com os outros voluntários, num ambiente de trabalho muito bom, aprendendo muito e praticando desporto!”

“During my time volunteering with the MONTIS association, I was able to discover many hidden aspects of the environment in Portugal and how acacia invasions work in the country. I also learnt how to combat this invasion with a very special technique. I think we had a lot of fun with the MONTIS team and the other volunteers, in a very good working environment, learning a lot and doing sport!”

“Recomendo vivamente a todos os que procuram um trabalho ambiental numa organização como a MONTIS. Foram 3 meses maravilhosos, apesar de um mês muito doente... Mas a MONTIS ajudou-me a ultrapassar isso!”

“O aspeto um pouco restritivo é que, por vezes, o horário é comunicado à última hora, o que pode ser um pouco frustrante. No entanto, isso não é um grande problema, uma vez que o horário é conhecido com antecedência.”
“The somewhat restrictive aspect is that sometimes the schedule is communicated at the last minute, which can be a bit frustrating. However, this is not a major problem, as the schedule is known in advance.”

 “O que eu achei ótimo foi o facto de me terem sido atribuídas muitas tarefas variadas, o que não tornou cada dia monótono. Desde a plantação até ao descasque de acácias, passando pela ajuda a outros voluntários, mesmo que fosse apenas uma barraca de comida. Até tive a oportunidade de verificar o Website e criar guias para futuros voluntários, o que é muito interessante.”
“What I found great was that I was given lots of varied tasks, which didn't make each day monotonous. From planting to debarking acacias, to helping out on days with other volunteers, even if I was just manning the food stall. I even had the opportunity to check the website and create guides for future volunteers, which is really interesting.”

"Quanto aos aspetos positivos, provavelmente esquecer-me-ia, pois há tantas coisas a dizer! Falam connosco livremente, estão à vontade connosco, prestam-nos atenção, rimos, trabalhamos, ajudamo-nos uns aos outros, ouvimo-nos... No que me diz respeito, não senti uma relação de voluntariado/coordenador, mas sim uma relação de amizade. Ter de vir trabalhar convosco foi muito agradável, e espero que também tenha sido o vosso caso, apesar dos problemas..."

"As for positive things, I would probably forget as there are so many things to say ! You speak to us freely, you are comfortable with us, you pay attention to us, we laugh, we work, we help each other, we listen to each other... As far as I am concerned, I did not feel a voluntary relationship / coordinator, but more like a friendly relationship. Having to come and work with you was really nice, and I hope it was also the case for you despite the problems..."

"Quanto aos pontos negativos, só vejo dois:"

"O primeiro seria a informação sobre o calendário. No geral, isto não é um problema, porque as missões podem mudar a qualquer momento e nós sabemos isso muito bem, a única coisa que eu acho que deveria ser feita, se possível, é informar com antecedência qual o sábado em que os voluntários vão trabalhar, para que possam planear o seu fim de semana, se quiserem."

"The first would be the information on the schedule. Overall this is not a problem, because the missions can change at any time and we know that very well, the only thing that I think should be done if possible is to inform in advance which Saturday the volunteers will work, so they can plan their weekend if they want."

"O segundo ponto seria a garagem e o trabalho relacionado com ela. Para mim, há demasiadas coisas na garagem que não pertencem necessariamente ao lugar, como panelas, tachos, edredões e toalhas que absorvem a humidade... Há também coisas que acho que podem ser deitadas fora. O trabalho ligado a este lugar, o inventário, não é, portanto, muito agradável, há coisas por todo o lado, num lugar bastante restrito, e como os objetos entram e saem todos os dias, é difícil manter um inventário atualizado. Em todo o caso, esta é a minha opinião e é também a tarefa de que menos gostei."

"The second point would be the garage and the work related to it. For me there are too many things in the garage that don't necessarily belong there, like pans, pots, duvets and towels that absorb moisture... There are also things that I think could be thrown away. The work linked to this place, the inventory, is therefore not very pleasant, there are things all over the place, in a rather restricted place, and as the objects come and go every day it is hard to keep up-to-date inventory. In any case, that's my opinion and it's also the task that I liked the least."

"Para concluir, o único ponto realmente negativo está relacionado com a garagem. Quanto ao resto, não me posso queixar, foi uma óptima estadia convosco, não me arrependo absolutamente nada de ter vindo. Eu exprimiria os meus sentimentos de outra forma, como disse no início."

"To conclude, the only real negative point is really linked to the garage. For the rest, I really can't complain, it was a great stay spent with you, I absolutely don't regret coming. I would express my feelings to you differently as I said at the very beginning."
