Damos as boas-vindas a dois novos voluntários de longa duração. O Baptiste Dupont e o Hugo Guastalla vão estar na equipa da MONTIS até julho a apoiar as atividades de conservação da natureza. Aqui ficam os seus testemunhos:
We welcome two new long-term volunteers. Baptiste Dupont and Hugo Guastalla will be joining the MONTIS team until July to support nature conservation activities. Here are their testimonies:
Olá!
Nós somos o Baptiste (à esquerda) e o Hugo (à direita) e acabamos de nos juntar à MONTIS como voluntários para os próximos quatro meses.
Ambos estudamos engenharia em França, com uma formação focada principalmente na engenharia técnica e mecânica. No entanto, queríamos aprender mais sobre ambiente e gestão de ecossistemas naturais, pois sempre tivemos uma grande paixão pela natureza (prova: foto acima).
Foi assim que embarcámos numa viagem de 25 horas de autocarro para chegar à MONTIS e mergulhar nesta aventura. A motivação estava lá, mesmo que as nossas costas não tenham ficado muito felizes com isso!
Nos primeiros dias, tivemos a oportunidade de explorar os terrenos onde vamos trabalhar nos próximos meses. A diversidade da flora e da fauna deixou-nos impressionados e estamos ansiosos para aprender mais sobre os ecossistemas locais. Fomos acompanhados pela Inês, que já nos ensinou muito, e também pelo Gabriel e pelo Hugo, que, tendo chegado antes de nós, nos ajudaram bastante na adaptação.
Mais uma vez, um grande obrigado à MONTIS por esta oportunidade! Estamos muito felizes por fazer parte desta aventura e ansiosos por aprender mais sobre a cultura portuguesa, a biodiversidade local e a sua preservação.

Hello!
We are Baptiste (on the left) and Hugo (on the right), and we have just joined MONTIS as volunteers for the next four months.
We are both studying engineering in France, with a focus mainly on technical and mechanical engineering. However, we wanted to learn more about environment and ecosystem management because we have always had a strong love for nature (proof: photo above).
That’s how we ended up on a 25-hour bus ride to get to MONTIS and dive into this adventure. The motivation was there, even if our backs weren’t too happy about it!
During our first days here, we had the opportunity to explore the land where we will be working for the next few months. The diversity of flora and fauna immediately caught our attention, and we’re eager to learn more about the local ecosystems. We were accompanied by Inês, who has already taught us a lot, and also by Gabriel and Hugo, who arrived before us and have been a great help in getting us settled.
Once again, a big thank you to MONTIS for this opportunity! We are very excited to be part of this adventure and look forward to learning more about Portuguese culture, local biodiversity, and conservation efforts.
