A MONTIS tem neste momento 459 sócios e 28 propriedades sob gestão que correspondem a 184,4 ha no Centro de Portugal e zona de Lisboa.
Começámos o ano com visitas técnicas a algumas propriedades sob gestão da MONTIS. Estas visitas ajudaram-nos a perceber a evolução das propriedades, a delinear o plano de ação para 2022 e a elaborar os relatórios de gestão correspondentes ao trabalho de 2021.
Costa Bacelo aparenta apresentar bons resultados no controlo de espécies invasoras, que tem sido feito desde o início do protocolo de gestão desta área em 2016. Os acessos à propriedade encontram-se em bom estado e há uma boa recuperação do medronhal e carvalhal e vegetação nativa nas encostas. Em 2022, procuraremos que os trabalhos a realizar incidam na continuação do controlo das espécies invasoras, nomeadamente nas mimosas junto ao rio Paiva e nas háqueas do topo da propriedade.
Em Vermilhas, o carvalhal continua a mostrar uma boa regeneração desde os fogos de 2017, com a altura dos carvalhos já globalmente acima ou ao mesmo nível que o giestal. Os acessos abertos na propriedade pelos voluntários da associação continuam transitáveis, sendo possível continuar este ano com os trabalhos de condução da regeneração natural dos carvalhos.
A meio do mês, recebemos as duas equipas do parceiro Plantar uma Árvore, a equipa de Sintra e a da Mata do Buçaco, com os seus voluntários do projeto Nature.com que a MONTIS também integra. As equipas, juntaram-se aos voluntários da MONTIS no baldio de Carvalhais para duas semanas de plantação de árvores autóctones na zona do primeiro fogo controlado desta propriedade.
No total plantaram-se 2 850 árvores, incluindo carvalhos alvarinho, sobreiros, carvalhos negral, bétulas, amieiros e freixos.
Já no final do mês, fomos até Alcochete, com os nossos sócios e aproximando-nos de Lisboa, para conhecer o trabalho desenvolvido pela Fundação das Salinas do Samouco, numa das zonas húmidas mais importantes do país, o estuário do Tejo. Este passeio permitiu-nos perceber como é feita a gestão da biodiversidade numa zona onde ainda é feita a exploração das salinas pela mão humana.
Balanço dos projetos e financiamentos da MONTIS
No último ano a MONTIS estabeleceu várias parcerias e criou vários projetos de financiamento de forma a melhorar a componente financeira da associação.
Deu-se continuidade aos trabalhos no âmbito do protocolo entre a MONTIS e a E-Redes, para a elaboração de um trilho pedestre e análise da vegetação nas linhas de alta tensão, na zona de Pampilhosa da Serra, onde a associação tem cerca de 11 ha sob gestão.
Foi renegociado também o protocolo de gestão das propriedades de Costa Bacelo e Vieiro com o proprietário, a Altri Florestal. Tendo em conta os resultados da gestão destas áreas obtidos desde 2016, a Altri Florestal passará a apoiar financeiramente e anualmente a MONTIS na gestão destas propriedades, até pelo menos 2026.
No final de 2021, foi estabelecido um protocolo de apadrinhamento das propriedades de Vermilhas pela empresa Critical Software, cujo valor apoiará os trabalhos de condução da regeneração natural do carvalhal destas áreas.
Já em 2022, em janeiro, fecharam-se duas novas parcerias. Uma com a The Navigator Company que irá apoiar financeiramente, numa base anual, o trabalho desenvolvido pela MONTIS na gestão de terrenos marginais e paisagem. A segunda parceria, foi feita entre a MONTIS e Nuno Cunha, produtor de mel, para a colocação de colmeias nas áreas da associação em Pampilhosa da Serra, resultando a produção de mel da gestão dos processos naturais nestas propriedades.
Outros apoios
Para além dos projetos de voluntariado no terreno, continuamos também à procura de quem nos possa apoiar em tarefas de voluntariado menos físicas, por exemplo relacionadas com candidaturas, procura de financiamentos, etc.. Quem nos quiser apoiar nestas tarefas poderá fazê-lo AQUI.

We started the year with technical visits to some properties managed by MONTIS. Balance of MONTIS projects and financing
In the last year MONTIS has established several partnerships and created several funding projects in order to improve the financial component of the association.Work continued within the scope of the protocol between MONTIS and E-Redes, for the elaboration of a pedestrian trail and analysis of the vegetation on the high voltage lines, in the area of Pampilhosa da Serra, where the association has about 11 there is under management.The management protocol for the Costa Bacelo and Vieiro properties was also renegotiated with the owner, Altri Florestal. Taking into account the results of the management of these areas obtained since 2016, Altri Florestal will financially and annually support MONTIS in the management of these properties, until at least 2026.At the end of 2021, a sponsorship protocol for the properties of Vermilhas was established by the company Critical Software, whose value will support the work of conducting the natural regeneration of the oak grove in these areas.In 2022, in January, two new partnerships were signed. One with The Navigator Company that will financially support, on an annual basis, the work developed by MONTIS in the management of marginal lands and landscape. The second partnership was made between MONTIS and Nuno Cunha, a honey producer, for the placement of beehives in the association's areas in Pampilhosa da Serra, resulting in the production of honey from the management of natural processes in these properties.
Other support
In addition to volunteering projects in the field, we also continue to look for someone who can support us in less physical volunteering tasks, for example related to applications, looking for funding, etc. Anyone who wants to support us in these tasks can do so HERE.
