Os voluntários de longa duração da MONTIS, Hugo Laviron, Gabriel, Baptiste e Hugo Guastalla (conhecidos como "GiestaHappyBees"), e o Youn - voluntário de longa duração da MONTIS através do projeto Do It 5: Develop Opportunities (through) Intercultural Travel, promovido pela associação parceira, Parcours le Monde Grand Ouest - deixam-nos o seu testemunho da semana de 3 a 7 de março. Eles também fizeram a tradução para português dos seus textos, uma vez que estão a fazer um esforço para aprender o idioma. Nota: nesta semana foram também acompanhados pelo Cedric, o estagiário alemão que além do trabalho no terreno tem também apoiado a MONTIS em SIG e uso do drone.
MONTIS long-term volunteers Hugo Laviron, Gabriel, Baptiste and Hugo Guastalla (known as “GiestaHappyBees”), and Youn - a MONTIS long-term volunteer through the project Do It 5: Develop Opportunities (through) Intercultural Travel, promoted by a partner association, Parcours le Monde Grand Ouest - give us their account of the week from March 3 to 7. They have also translated their texts into Portuguese, as they are making an effort to learn the language. Note: this week they were also joined by Cedric, the German intern that besides the work in field is also supporting MONTIS in GIS and the drone.
Observações / Remarks :
Segunda-feira foi o dia mais frio que tivemos de enfrentar desde a nossa chegada ! Também estava a chover bastante, mas mesmo assim conseguimos fazer um bom trabalho até às duas da tarde, plantando mais de quarenta plantas e cavando muitos mais buracos na zona superior.
Monday was the coldest day we’ve had to face since our arrival ! It was raining pretty heavily too but we still managed to make good work until 2pm, planting more than forty plants and digging a lot more holes in the top area.
Terça-feira foi o dia mais quente, almoçámos debaixo de um belo sol. Com a energia do sol conseguimos, pela primeira vez, plantar mais de 100 plantas num só dia. Que dia fantástico! :)
Tuesday was the warmest day, we took our lunch under the beautiful sunshine. With the energy of the sun we managed to plant more than 100 plants in one day for the first time. What a great day ! :)
Hugo e Baptiste chegaram a Carvalhais na terça-feira à noite e trouxeram a chuva de França :( Na quarta-feira, enquanto os rapazes trabalhavam arduamente no terreno (mais de 100 plantas novamente), Baptiste e Hugo descansaram um pouco depois da sua viagem de 27 horas desde França e tiveram a oportunidade de ler o guia do Baldio de Carvalhais, preparar o seu post de introdução, e depois vieram para a propriedade com a Inês da parte da tarde.
Hugo and Baptiste arrived in Carvalhais Tuesday evening and brought the rain of France :(
On Wednesday, while the boys were hard working in the field (more than 100 plants again), Baptiste and Hugo rested for a while after their 27 hours trip from France and had the opportunity to read the guide of Baldio de Carvalhais, prepare their introduction post, and then they came to the property with Ines during the afternoon.
Quinta-feira foi o primeiro dia de trabalho duro para Baptiste e Hugo, e estavam exaustos no final deste dia chuvoso, pois conseguimos plantar mais de 80 plantas, limpar zonas muito densas e procurar novas zonas para plantar. Apercebemo-nos que algumas das áreas que começámos a plantar já tinham sido plantadas em anos anteriores e que devíamos tentar evitá-las. Foi por isso que Cedric procurou com sucesso novas áreas: encontrou uma grande na parte inferior da propriedade, na qual nos vamos concentrar a partir de agora.
Thursday was the first real day of hard work for Baptiste and Hugo, and they were exhausted at the end of this rainy day, since we managed to plant more than 80 plants, clear very dense areas, and search for new zones to plant. We realized that some of the areas we began to plant had already been planted years before and that we should try to avoid them. That’s why Cedric successfully searched for new areas : he found a big one at the bottom of the property, on which we are going to focus from now on.
Na sexta-feira, limpámos cerca de 200 m2 numa nova área, a sul da propriedade de MONTIS. Esta área, quando todos os fetos forem removidos, parece ser promissora para a plantação. Na próxima semana, provavelmente continuaremos a limpar esta área e começaremos a plantar!
On Friday we cleaned around 200 m2 in a new area, at the south of the property of MONTIS. This area, when all the ferns are removed, looks really promising for planting. Next week we’ll probably continue to clean this area and start to plant !
