We welcome Leticia Kämmerer and Arvin Hadelich the new MONTIS volunteers, who will be helping us with our nature conservation activities until mid-December. They come from Germany through our partner organization, NaturKultur. Get to know them better below!

O meu nome é Letícia e sou da Alemanha. Tenho 18 anos e terminei o ensino secundário este ano. Durante anos, procurei o que fazer depois de 12 anos de escola. Para além de ter muito interesse pela natureza e pela proteção ambiental, queria fazer voluntariado nesta área para contribuir para uma mudança positiva e, ao mesmo tempo, explorar um novo país. Por isso, estou muito grata por ter esta oportunidade em Portugal com a MONTIS. Estou muito entusiasmada para ver como será o trabalho de voluntariado e mal posso esperar para adquirir experiência prática no terreno. Além disso, estou muito feliz por aprender mais sobre a natureza e a cultura de Portugal e super entusiasmada por trabalhar e interagir com os outros voluntários.

my name is Leticia and I'm from Germany. I'm 18 years old and finished school this year. For years, I was searching for the right thing to do after 12 years of school. Apart from the fact that I'm very interested in nature and environmental protection, I wanted to volunteer in this field to be part of a positive change and, at the same time, explore a new country. That's why I'm so thankful to get this opportunity in Portugal with MONTIS. I'm very excited to see what the volunteering looks like and can’t wait to gain hands-on experience out in the field. Furthermore, I'm really happy to learn more about the nature and culture of Portugal, and I'm super excited to work alongside and connect with the other volunteers.

Sou o Arvin e tenho 19 anos. Venho de Weimar, uma pequena cidade no centro da Alemanha.
Terminei a escola este ano e precisava de fazer uma pausa, por isso inscrevi-me na MONTIS para fazer algo útil para a natureza. Os meus avós têm uma quinta em Itália e sempre gostei de os ajudar a cuidar das oliveiras e das vinhas. A MONTIS foi a oportunidade perfeita para aprender algo novo e voltar a trabalhar ao ar livre.
Já estive em Portugal durante 3 meses, de novembro a janeiro, quando eu e a minha família navegámos da Alemanha para a Grécia. Foi um período maravilhoso! Estou ansioso por descobrir Portugal ainda mais, desta vez por dentro.

I'm Arvin and I'm 19 years old. I come from Weimar, a small city in the centre of Germany.
I finished school this year and needed a break, so I applied for MONTIS to do something useful for the nature. My grandparents have a farm in Italy, and I always liked helping them take care of the olive trees and the wine. MONTIS was the perfect opportunity to learn something new and to work outside again.
I was already in Portugal for 3 months, from November to January, when my family and I sailed from Germany to Greece. It was a beautiful time! I'm really looking forward to discovering Portugal even more, this time from the inside.
Thank you MONTIS for this amazing opportunity. I will enjoy my stay until the middle of December.
