Março 2023

A MONTIS tem neste momento 423 sócios e gere cerca de 300 ha, correspondentes a 34 propriedades no centro de Portugal e mais uma na zona de Lisboa.   Não se esqueça que já pode apoiar a MONTIS através da consignação do IRS. Veja como fazê-lo aqui. Outra forma de ajudar é através do pagamento de quotas: já estão a pagamento as de 2023 (saiba como aqui). Em março assinalámos os nove anos de existência da MONTIS e prestámos contas aos sócios na Assembleia Geral: o Relatório e Contas 2022 e o Orçamento e Plano de Ação 2023 foram aprovados por unanimidade (pode vê-los aqui). A MONTIS fez ainda parte do processo participativo do Plano de Gestão da área abrangida pela ZEC Rio Paiva que decorreu este mês.

No fim de semana de 11 e 12 de março foi possível dirigir esforços de plantação em duas zonas do país distintas: Malveira (saiba mais aqui)e Baldio de Carvalhais (veja aqui).

O passeio mensal decorreu na Quinta das Lamas na manhã de 25 e à tarde, realizou-se a Assembleia Geral no Auditório Municipal de Vouzela. O dia seguinte foi dedicado ao controlo de acácias. Saiba mais sobre o fim de semana da MONTIS aqui.

A MONTIS foi a um workshop com alunos do secundário no IPDJ de Viseu. Falámos sobre o que é uma associação para a conservação e como é que o voluntariado se pode aliar à conservação.

No mesmo dia, também em Viseu, a MONTIS apresentou os resultados dos trabalhos desenvolvidos em colaboração com a Critical Software.

Balanço dos projetos e candidaturas

Este foi também um mês dedicado à preparação da candidatura ao 18º Prémio de Conservação BBVA a nível mundial.   No âmbito do protocolo com a E-Redes, foi feita uma visita à Pampilhosa da Serra para preparar o percurso previsto. Saiba mais aqui. A MONTIS está a organizar um workshop que irá decorrer em setembro sobre conservação em terrenos privados no âmbito do LIFE ENPLC. Brevemente teremos mais detalhes.

MONTIS currently has 423 partners and manages around 300 ha, corresponding to 34 properties in central Portugal and one more in the Lisbon area. In March, we celebrated the nine years of MONTIS' existence and reported to the members at the General Assembly: the 2022 Report and Accounts and the 2023 Budget and Action Plan were unanimously approved (you can see them here). MONTIS was also part of the participatory process of the Management Plan for the area covered by the ZEC Rio Paiva that took place this month. On the weekend of March 11th and 12th, it was possible to direct planting efforts in two different areas of the country: Malveira (learn more here) and Baldio de Carvalhais (see here). The monthly walk took place at Quinta das Lamas on the morning of the 25th and in the afternoon, the General Assembly took place at the Auditório Municipal de Vouzela. We talked about what an association for conservation is and how volunteering can be combined with conservation. On the same day, also in Viseu, MONTIS presented the results of the work carried out in collaboration with Critical Software. Balance of MONTIS projects and financing This was also a month dedicated to preparing applications for the 18th BBVA Conservation Prize worldwide. As part of the protocol with E-Redes, a visit was made to Pampilhosa da Serra to prepare the trail foreseen in the project. Learn more here.
