MONTIS currently has 423 partners and manages around 300 ha, corresponding to 34 properties in central Portugal and one more in the Lisbon area.

In March, we celebrated the nine years of MONTIS' existence and reported to the members at the General Assembly: the 2022 Report and Accounts and the 2023 Budget and Action Plan were unanimously approved (you can see them here).
MONTIS was also part of the participatory process of the Management Plan for the area covered by the ZEC Rio Paiva that took place this month.
On the weekend of March 11th and 12th, it was possible to direct planting efforts in two different areas of the country: Malveira (learn more here) and Baldio de Carvalhais (see here).
The monthly walk took place at Quinta das Lamas on the morning of the 25th and in the afternoon, the General Assembly took place at the Auditório Municipal de Vouzela. The next day was dedicated to controlling acacias. Find out more about the MONTIS weekend here.
MONTIS attended a workshop with secondary school students at the IPDJ in Viseu. We talked about what an association for conservation is and how volunteering can be combined with conservation.
On the same day, also in Viseu, MONTIS presented the results of the work carried out in collaboration with Critical Software.
Balance of MONTIS projects and financing
This was also a month dedicated to preparing applications for the 18th BBVA Conservation Prize worldwide.
As part of the protocol with E-Redes, a visit was made to Pampilhosa da Serra to prepare the trail foreseen in the project. Learn more here.
